Mysterious Megaliths Of Russia May Offer Evidence Of An Ancient Advanced Lost Civilization
Ellen Lloyd - AncientPages.com - There are many mysterious megaliths scattered across Russia. Some of these massive stone blocks can be natural formations, but other huge structures seem a bit too artificial to be considered a work of Mother Nature.
Do these enigmatic megaliths offer evidence of an ancient, lost civilization that once lived in Russia?
We tend to underestimate ancient cultures and their achievements. Countless examples offer proof our ancestors were much more advanced than previously thought. Yet, if some of these huge ancient structures were built by an ancient civilization, it would mean these people had access to a highly sophisticated technology that is completely unknown to us.
Mysterious Vottovaara Mountain Where Huge Megalithic Blocks Are Scattered
Many ancient civilizations believed that spirits lived in sacred places such as trees, mountains, and stones.
One such place is the mysterious Vottovaara Mountain in Karelia that was sacred to the Sami people. This enigmatic place was also an ancient pagan site and is still visited by neo-pagans who consider it to be of special importance.
Karelia has always been an area in Northern Europe of historical significance for Finland, Russia, and Sweden.
There are many huge stones around the Vottovaara Mountain, and some of them are undoubtedly of natural origin. They may have been formed due to a powerful earthquake for example, but some of the stones are just too perfect.

A couple of the giant stones form a 90-degree angle and some seem to have been cut. The stone blocks are tightly adjusted to each other. It looks like someone was using a laser to split the stones, but how it is possible when historians say ancient civilizations did not have access to such advanced technology? Or maybe they had, but we just don’t know about it?

One thing is certain – primitive stone tools were not used to shape these extraordinary, huge stones.
Mysterious Megaliths In Siberia
There are several super megaliths in Siberia. They were found and photographed for the first time in 2014 by Georgy Sidorov, researcher and a proponent of unconventional theories regarding humanity’s past, on his expedition to Siberian Mountains.
There are no known earlier photographs of these megalithic stones, located in the vicinity of the Shoria Mountain in Southern Siberia.
This massive wall of gigantic granite stones is veiled in the mists of deep antiquity.
There are only speculations regarding their cyclopean masonry, their builders, their technique methods, and, first of all, the purpose and the true meaning of their work.
Some of these megaliths could easily weigh 3,000 to 4,000 tons, and many of them were cut “with flat surfaces, sharp corners and right angles.” Are they a work of Mother Nature or built by an unknown, ancient civilization?
Megaliths Of Mount Pidan
Located in Shkotovsky District of Primorsky Krai, Russia, Pidan is one of the famous mountains in Russia's Far East.
There is a large number of megaliths around the mountain, but experts have not examined them. Just like the Vottovarra Mountain in Karelia, this enigmatic site attracts neopagans who consider the mountain sacred.

Those who have visited the site and seen the giant stones say many of the blocks look like man-made constructions for building. Some of the stones clearly appear to be polished, and there are hundreds of man-made plates that look like cubes, rectangles, and squares. The stones also seem to be cut, and they have odd markings.

Most think they are geological formations, but some think they are the work of a pre-historic civilization that possessed astonishing technology.
Without proper scientific examination, it difficult to determine whether these giant blocks were once part of a megalithic construction or simply natural stones scattered over a vast area.
All these megaliths are not as famous as Stonehenge in the UK or Ollantaytambo in Peru, but it does not make them less interesting. We simply possess very little information about the gigantic stone blocks to determine how, why and by whom they were raised.
Unfortunately, no-one seems interested in studying these mysterious ancient structures.
