Preliminary studies show the cave was continuously occupied by ancient people. It has not yet been determined, but it’s possible the cave served as a shelter and protection against rains, storms, and cold winters. Its inhabitants were the local population.

It’s very likely there was once an ancient settlement in the area. While investigating the surroundings archaeologists found remains of circular stone buildings around 200 meters southwest of the cave.
